Buy Pulse Oximeter on Daraz Nepal

A pulse Oximeter is a non-invasive device that shines light at particular wavelengths through the tissue to assess the blood's oxygen saturation mostly from the fingernail bed. The wavelengths of light that are absorbed by deoxygenated and oxygenated haemoglobin are different (660 nm and 940 nm, respectively), and the pulse oximeter processes the absorbed light using a proprietary algorithm to display a saturation value. To assess visible light absorption, the oximeter employs a sensor device comprised of two light sources which are red and infrared with a photodetector. As it travels through the tissue, the photodetector detects light absorption. The quantity of oxygen molecules linked to hemoglobin, or how saturated the hemoglobin is with oxygen, is determined by the amount of dissolved oxygen in the blood. The pulse oximeter uses the ratio between the amplitude of the red and infrared wavelengths to estimate oxygen saturation.

Pulse Oximeter Price in Nepal

The price of a pulse oximeter starts from Rs. 500 in Nepal. The price increases according to the brands and the different features of the oximeters. Usually, all the oximeters show the SpO2, Pulse Rate, and PR bpm. Oximeters are small, compact, simple, and very reliable to monitor oxygen saturation. When it comes to identifying hypoxemia (low oxygen level in blood), the human eye is not particularly reliable.

Pulse Oximeter Reading

At sea level, oxygen saturation values between 96% and 100% are regarded as typical. At higher altitudes, average people could have decreased oxygen saturation levels. With an accuracy of 2% to 4% and a typical calibration range of 70% to 100%, pulse oximeter readings below 70% may not be reliable when compared to invasive blood gas measurements, which are the industry standard. Even while they might not have perfect accuracy, they often track oxygen saturation and show lower amounts. The 70% calibration was chosen for a variety of technical factors. The treatment to reverse that level of hypoxia would not be any different from the treatment for a patient with a saturation of 70% by that point, albeit the patients typically had clinical symptoms of hypoxemia by that time that would not require intrusive clinical confirmation. At sea level, critical results that would necessitate intervention for the majority of patients are probably in the mid to upper 80% range, with the partial pressure of oxygen being in the 60 mmHg range. However, at high altitudes or in individuals with hypoxic heart abnormalities, where venous blood mixes with arterial blood before entering the systemic circulation, the critical levels that call for therapy may be lower.
